The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) was done at Geneva on September 30, 1957, under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The national jurisdiction specifies strict procedures for packing, handling and transportation of dangerous goods, by a whole set of regulations and laws, among which the most important are: Law 31 of 18 May, 1994 for Romania`s accession to the European Agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods (ADR), Regulation (26.09.2007) on dangerous goods transport by road in Romania, Ordinance nr.640/2007 approving the Regulations on the training and professional certification of drivers carrying dangerous goods by road and Ordinance nr. 1044/2003 regarding the approval of the Regulations on the appointment, training and professional certification of safety advisers for road, rail or inland waterway transportation of dangerous goods in Romania.
